Who should complete this form? 
Only complete this form: 
  • If you are registering for a role with the Central Open Day Team, where you’ll play an important part in helping visitors navigate the campus, answering general questions, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. No prior experience or RMIT knowledge is needed. Training will be provided. 
  • Staff only: If you have obtained line manager approval to work on Open Day. 
Do not complete this form: 
  • If you have been selected for a specialised role within your college, course, school, or department. Please reach out to them directly for further details.

Staff entitlements
IMPORTANT NOTICE

Staff remuneration for working on Open Day is funded through your direct manager's Cost Centre. To claim entitlements for working at Open Day, you MUST have approval from your direct manager. 

It is your responsibility to confirm with your manager that they will approve your entitlements before completing your registration.

Without manager approval to fund your entitlements, you will not be eligible for any remuneration for working on the day. 

Staff who participate and assist on Open Day will be eligible to claim the below:
Fixed Term/Continuing Staff (Professional) up to and including HEW 7:  Will be entitled to payment for overtime or Time off in Lieu (TOIL). Regardless of which is chosen, the actual hours worked must be entered in Workday. Penalty rates are automatically calculated.   


Staff who participate and assist on Open Day will be eligible to claim the below:
Fixed Term/Continuing Staff (Professional) classified at HEW 8 and above: Will not normally be entitled to receive payment for overtime however are eligible to receive Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) equivalent to the period of time worked (1 hour is calculated at 1 hour). If staff are unable to use the TOIL within one month then the TOIL will be paid out as hours worked.


Staff who participate and assist on Open Day will be eligible to claim the below:
Casual Professional staff: Should enter their hours as per the standard process into Workday timesheets. For casual professional staff, there is a minimum engagement of 3 hours. To claim payment for these hours, access the Timesheets Guides under Workday People (HR Guides) on Workday Guides.

Staff who participate and assist on Open Day will be eligible to claim the below:
Vocational Education Employees (Teachers, Program Coordinators, and Program Managers): Non-casual employees will be entitled to Time off in Lieu (TOIL) or payment at the relevant excess teaching duty hourly rate. The TOIL must be taken within one month of the attendance. If not, the TOIL will be paid out as excess teaching hours worked. For Casuals, there is a minimum engagement of 2 hours. To claim payment for these hours, please login to Workday and enter as per the normal timesheet process.

Manager's Approval

No approval
By proceeding without manager approval, you acknowledge that you are volunteering your time for Open Day and will not be eligible to claim any entitlements or remuneration associated with your participation.

All Open Day shifts will start at 8:30am and are expected to finish around 4:30pm.
  • Sunday 2 August – Bundoora Open Day 
    The campus is 35 km from Melbourne’s CBD, with easy public transport access and free on-site parking. 
  • Sunday 9 August – City and Brunswick Open Day
    Both campuses are accessible by public transport, and Brunswick offers free parking.

Should you be selected for a role on the day, please advise us of your selection for lunch.

Chicken Schnitzel Wrap
Chicken schnitzel (crumbed chicken breast), tortilla wrap, mixed lettuce, tomato, cheese, mayonnaise. Served with Cake Slice (carrots, self raising flour, brown sugar, butter, eggs, vegetable oil) and Seasonal Fruit (grapes, strawberries, blueberries).

Beef Wrap
Roast beef, tortilla wrap, lettuce, tomato, mixed lettuce, caramelised onion, cheese, mustard aioli. Served with Cake Slice (carrots, self raising flour, brown sugar, butter, eggs, vegetable oil) and Seasonal Fruit (grapes, strawberries, blueberries).

Grilled Chicken Wrap
Grilled chicken breast, tortilla wrap, olive oil, lemon, mixed lettuce, salt, pepper, herbed aioli. Served with Cake Slice (carrots, self raising flour, brown sugar, butter, eggs, vegetable oil and Seasonal Fruit (grapes, strawberries, blueberries).

Vegetable Frittata (GF, V)
Eggs, roasted zucchini, capsicum, spinach, red onion, potato, feta cheese, olive oil, salt, pepper, fresh herbs. Served with Brownie Slice (dark chocolate, butter, cocoa, almond meal, caster sugar, free range eggs) and Seasonal Fruit (grapes, strawberries, blueberries).

Tofu Rice Paper Rolls (Vegan, GF, DF)
Rice paper sheets, firm tofu, vermicelli noodles, carrot, cucumber, lettuce, mint, coriander. Served with Raspberry cake (soy milk, vinegar, brown sugar, plain flour, cocoa, salt, olive oil, organic maple syrup) and Seasonal Fruit (grapes, strawberries, blueberries).
