Application for Review of an Assessment Result

Important Information

This form is for English Language program students at RMIT University Pathways (RMIT UP) who wish to request a review of an assessment result.

You may request a review of an assessment result, in certain circumstances. You are not permitted to request a formal review for assessment results if there are student conduct concerns regarding the assessment.

Before requesting any review, you should carefully reflect on any feedback already provided for the assessment and take note of any comments made by the teacher regarding errors, misunderstandings, or areas for improvement.

An Academic Coordinator will respond to your request for review within 5 working days via your RMIT student email account.

Please ensure that you have submitted all of the requested information or there may be a delay in responding to your request.

Review of an Assessment Result

Informal Review

If a student believes that there has been an error or misunderstanding in the assessment, they should contact their teacher for clarification.

During the course, students can contact their teachers via Teams, email or in person to request an informal review of an assessment outcome. An informal review can be requested for any assessment outcome, even if it does not contribute to the final grade for the course.

Formal Review

Requests for a formal review of an assessment result can only be made for assessments that contribute to the final course grade. These requests must be made within 5 working days of the student receiving the assessment result.

Students may seek a formal review of an assessment outcome during the course for any of the following reasons.
